Currencies In Debate
Profile: Experiments of the community and complementary currencies (CCC) are nowadays developing throughout the world to a significant degree. If these experiments are very diverse, in their monetary architectures or in their processes, we think they find themselves confronted with similar questions, in terms of obstacles (circulation and monetary management, relations with the public partners, etc.) and in terms of levers for their implementation. Thus, the Palmas Institute (Brazil), the associations SOL, CEDAL, the CRESS, the Rhone Alpes Region and the Fondation pour le Progrès de l'Homme think that it is important to reinforce the level and occasions of exchange and mutual help between our experiments, and most important of all at an international level : each one's choices, despite their specific contexts, can enlighten the reflexion and action of the others, as for the tools and steps that can be mutualized. That is why we are organizing a first international encounter between CCC practitioners that will take place on the 18th of February 2011 in Lyon, France. This gathering is opened to all kind of CCC practitioners from around the world.
